Navona Gallegos

I was born and raised in Santa Fe and spent a lot of time connecting with the land in NM as I grew up between Santa Fe and my family’s multi-generational ranch in Tucumcari. I studied ecology at the University of Virginia, permaculture with Starhawk in northern CA, and dove deep into soil with Dr. Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web training. In 2019, I took over management of my family’s ranch and grew hemp and worked on restoring our overgrazed pastures. In 2021, I found my own land to steward in Ojo Caliente, NM and currently manage both farms while also expanding my soil consulting work. I work with land restoration and food growing because I think it’s the deepest way we can heal ourselves and rewild/decolonize our minds and bodies.
