By education and former profession, I’m a geologist that left that field to pursue a more regenerative path. I bought my family apple processing business and bakery in 2016 from my 80 year old cousin to keep it going for future generations. I shortly thereafter began the process of becoming an apple grower, in addition to processor. The best time to plant trees was ten years ago; the second best is today. I’m now learning the deeply satisfying struggle of small scale orcharding on top of operating an existing seasonal small business in an area dominated by large-scale dairy and 2.5 acre housing plots.
