Esteline Niyunkuru

I was born in Tanzania but my parents were born in Burundi. I grew up in a farming family. I came to the US in 2015 when I was about to turn 14 years old. When my family got to Tucson, my parents started farming and selling to community members in 2016. During that time, I assisted them on the farming and in communicating with potential customers. Later on I started my own farm. My goals are to be a great farming lady and to provide fresh food in US. I will use this funding to cover my current plot fees at Las Milpitas Community Farm, which will allow me to look into other options for additional land. I will use this funding to buy a lot of African seeds, American seeds, and other seeds form different parts of the world to increase cultural food available to the community.
