Elston Tortuga (they/them)
Elston is a Gemini/Scorpio/Leo and kitchen witch who grew up transient and rooted in Mount Carroll, Chicago, and Evanston, Illinois. They have been farming in the Midwest since 2019 and in 2021 began working with grass-finished rotationally grazed beef cattle on the Missouri-Mississippi River Divide in rural southwest “Iowa” on Baxoje and Oceti Sakowin land, where they currently reside. They graduated with a degree in International Studies and Spanish from Macalester College in 2019 and are a 2015 Global Citizen Year Fellow. Elston is a writer and a student of generative somatics, and is deeply invested in relationship with other humans, plants, and animals of all kinds.
