Before becoming NYFC’s national policy director, Andrew held positions in government, on farms, and in agriculture policy. He spent years on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives before returning to his native Vermont to work on vegetable and poultry farms. Andrew has taught sustainable farming as an instructor at the University of Vermont’s Farmer Training Program and was a lead organizer for the Vermont Young Farmers Coalition, a chapter of NYFC. He later worked as an organizer and lobbyist for family farmers in Vermont. He holds a B.A. in political science from Macalester College.
