Amara (they/them/elle) is a queer Andean earth steward, educator and food justice organizer cultivating spaces for Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPoC) to reconnect with earth work as a form of healing and liberation. In 2020, Amara will support the launch of Amar(t)anto Botanicals; a QTBIPoC centered cooperative farm that grows, shares, and teaches about medicinal plants and healing traditions in the northeast. Funds will be used to offer free solidarity plant-medicine boxes to QTBIPoC community members affected by COVID-19, cover off-farm expenses and business incorporation costs.
