ACORN is currently doing a project to connect farmers and food producers with the public in an effort to help replace lost business from the closure of restaurants and farmers’ markets. As part of the project, ACORN has created an online interactive map using Google maps of the nearly 250 farms and food producers in the area. While this works for their needs for now, they are welcoming Middlebury students interested in a volunteer GIS (Geographic Information System) project, taking this map and information and creating a mobile app for it.
