The Beginning Farmer Network of Massachusetts (BFN/Mass), a coalition of farmers and farm service providers in MA, have officially released their new website clearinghouse for resources and information for beginning farmers in the state.
The website, www.bfnmass.org, is designed to allow for simple navigation through a database of service provider-offered loan and grant programs, classes, and other services. At the same time, the website helps farmers find farm supply companies and other agriculture-related businesses. Also included is a blog for guest-writers to share useful farming advice and for profiling successful Massachusetts farms to serve as inspirations for beginning farmers.
Do you work with a non-profit, farming supplier, agricultural contractor, or related government agency in the state? Make sure you are on the map, and if not, upload your services so that those in need can find you.
This is a fantastic new resource for farmers in Massachusetts, so make sure to use it! Not in MA? Take a look and think about whether this sort of clearinghouse could exist in your state!
