Vero Vergara is a strategist and community organizer with a background in organic vegetable production, local food procurement/distribution, and community food systems development. They hold experience consulting with individuals, organizations, and coalitions operating within Food Systems, Hunger Relief, and Sustainable Agriculture sectors in the US. As an experienced organizer, Vero nourishes community self-determination by building power with historically marginalized people and tenant farmers in local, regional, and national food movements. They honor relationships with food and land as basic human rights, as bases of cultural belonging, and as bases of political power. Vero is a worker-owner of a 1 acre vegetable farm in Washington state, where you can often find them amidst the rows of corn and amaranth.
