Tolu was first introduced to the urban agriculture movement in 2013 in Detroit where they were born, but it wasn’t until 2020 that she committed to a career in farming wholeheartedly after moving to Washington, D.C. Since then, Tolu has been distributing, growing, and having the most wonderful conversations about food with her newfound community and hopes to continue to do so for years to come. In their spare time, Tolu loves to cook, sing, dance, and is always pursuing a new creative project. Tolu uses she/they pronouns and is thrilled to be farming at Eco City Farms in Prince George’s County, Maryland while building their farm business in their spare time. They are really looking forward to developing more equitable and sustainable policies for the 2023 Farm Bill with their neighbors in Washington, D.C. and beyond.
