Maia Usher-Rasmussen (they/them)
Maia is the Iowa Organizer at Young Farmers. They are dedicated to de-complicating policy and land access strategies. Their work has focused on workers’ rights, rematriation, education, and building alternative economic models. This experience has taught Maia that we can’t make change in silos and that working across issues to address and visualize barriers to access is key. They strive to do their work with an equity lens and love to receive feedback! When they aren’t working with Young Farmers, they are a worker-owner of a prescribed grazing goat cooperative, co-organizing the Queer Farmer Convergence, or asking as many questions as possible.
