At Roots and Culture Farm, we cultivate .25 acres by hand, and in our first season we grew an array of annual vegetables, fruits, and herbs. We sell our produce and value-added products directly to members of our small CSA, to NYC health food markets, and to guests during on farm gatherings. In 2023, and thanks to receiving this grant, we are doubling our planting acreage, establishing a mini orchard, and adding chickens and outdoor mushrooms to our operation, and we will also host our second annual Black Family Day gathering.
