Jaz Bias

Jaz (they/them) is an Afro-Caribbean activist, farmer, and heart-centered medicine maker, warmed by feelings of home and deep belly laughs. They are a lover of soil, ancestral magic, old growth trees, wild berries, cold plunges into rivers, sowing seeds, and all things food. They are currently cultivating two projects in so called Portland, Oregon/ SW Washington: Heart Space Healing, an herbal medicine shop that centers grief medicines and provides free herbal medicine to folx who hold marginalized identities; and Ground Down Homestead, a budding homestead and community education space. Both projects aim to provide safer spaces, education, land connection opportunities, and community building opportunities for people who are systemically oppressed. This work is their heart!
