Janelle has been working on vegetable farms for almost ten years and is excited to explore the small beginnings of her own operation in Maine. Land access feels increasingly important to her as she searches for a parcel that allows her business to grow and thrive steadily for a long time. Some of her favorite farm tasks are greenhouse work, bunching greens, and setting up irrigation puzzles/systems. She likes to spend time thinking about alternative land ownership models and how the small farm community can collaborate to build resilience and competition in the larger market. Her favorite farm food is after-work-potato-chips (and fava beans!).
