I live for the freedom of creativity and passion required of a diverse farm system. On my farm I’m creating not just a for-profit enterprise that supports my dream of living where this farm is located, but a place where I also practice my compassion and stewardship for all local life, from native plants and animals, to human community. My goal is to provide a diverse array of fresh and preserved food and medicine to my customers and to maintain, improve, and protect the riparian corridor on my land and all the life it supports. This grant money will help provide much needed supplies to my operation, as well as help pay for consulting from local ecological professionals to support my goal of farm AND preservation. The input from professionals, who are typically across the isle from farmers, is unusual and contrary, but this collaboration and what it stands for is hugely important to all our futures.
