Hello, my name is Elena Miller-ter Kuile, and I am a sixth-generation farmer in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado. My family first came here as part of the Mexican land grants awarded to Hispano settlers before Colorado was a state—we have a long history in the Southwest. I studied Interdisciplinary Studies in Agriculture at Cornell University and graduated with honors in 2010. Currently, I raise sheep and create wool products that I sell online and through direct marketing. I work with my father on the farm to produce a variety of products, from organic vegetables to wheat and hay. www.cactushillfarm.com @cactushillfarm
