Christian Andrés Aponte Sáez (they/he/she) is an educator, writer, activist, dancer, gardener, and aspiring farmer. As an educator, Christian has served within several fields, ranging from bike education, college access and preparation, and foreign language instruction, including English, Spanish, and Portuguese. They are also a teacher of Capoeira Angola, a Bomba dancer, urban bike instructor, and energy healing practitioner. Their activism is focused on healing justice, language justice, financial literacy, and land tenure/land access rights. In their role as the Beginner Farmer Education Specialist at GrowNYC Farmer Assistance, they provide technical support in business training, farm financial planning, marketing, and land access to beginner farmers in both English and Spanish. They volunteer at several gardens throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan. Christian is a Fulbright scholar (Brazil, 2014) and graduate of Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. in Global Studies and Latin American Studies.
