Angelina Montez

Being on land is incredibly therapeutic for me: I feel allowed to take up space in a way I never have before in my life, and forming connections with plants, the soil, and the weather of my region makes me feel even more connected to my community. I hope to spend my life advocating for the earth, herbal medicine, and community care while centering BIPOC and queer communities. Recently I have been trying to consciously decolonize my diet by prioritizing foods of color. One exciting way I’ve been doing this is by gathering cookbooks and recipes written by people of color covering dishes from their cultures and backgrounds, which has been a very fun and creative adventure.
