Definitions:

• We aim to not only be inclusive, but to welcome, encourage, and respect multiple and divergent perspectives.
• Differing perspectives, including those that are “unpopular” or “contrary” will be honored and given space.
• We value new perspectives and new ideas as a recognition that our work needs to continually evolve in order to be successful.

Action and commitments:

• The Network will establish community agreements for all meetings in order to create both safe and brave spaces for all perspectives within the Network.
• The Network will establish a process for Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building that honors multiple perspectives.

• Nuestre objetivo es ser inclusives, enalteciendo  y respetando  perspectivas que son múltiples y divergentes.

• We will not be timid about centering this work within a larger framework of structural change in our agricultural system.
• The Network will work to address not only symptoms, but also root causes.
• We commit to maintaining a long-term perspective.
• We will consider not only farmers and farmworkers in our work, but also view our work in the context of supporting farm families, communities, and the next generation of farmers.
  
  

Actions and commitments:

• The Network will recognize and address the underlying economics, policies, and systemic racism and oppression that lead to farm stress.
• The Network will not constrain itself to traditional resources and solutions by committing to a process of continual outreach.
• The Network will not only respond to crisis, but focus on integrating preventative measures as well.
• The Network will develop multi-faceted evaluation methods that aim to assess our work on transforming our agricultural system.

• La Red reconocerá y abordará los sistemas económicos, politicas, racismo sistémico y opresión que le causan estrés a agricultores.
• La Red no se limitará a recursos tradicionales y soluciones, sino que se compromete a encontrar soluciones mediante un proceso continuo de alcance.
• La Red no solo responderá a las crisis sino que también se enfocara en integrar medidas preventivas.
• La Red desarrollará métodos de evaluación multifacéticos que buscan evaluar nuestros esfuerzos para transformar el sistema agrícola.

Definitions:

• The work of the Network is informed by evidence and is outcomes-oriented: we want to advance efforts that prove successful in helping our farming communities thrive.
• We respect knowledge and expertise, and will look to prior projects, community practices, and existing programs to direct and guide our work.
• We will aim to learn lessons from proven models and be willing to innovate based on evaluation practices that account for the impacts in our farming communities and prioritize the impacts in underserved communities.
• We will avoid unnecessarily duplicating efforts and will seek to channel resources and support to interventions that are effective.

Actions and commitments:

• The Network will aggregate data on existing models and create opportunities for that data to be accessible to all members.
• The Network will collect and amplify lessons learned from proven models and give proper citation and acknowledgment to the previous and existing work.
• The Network will proceed with projects with built-in evaluation and feedback processes that will allow for an accurate assessment on project benefits to our farming communities.
• Evaluation processes will specifically account for impacts on underserved and historically underrepresented farming communities – and projects should be evaluated based on those benefits.

• El trabajo de la Red está informado por evidencia y es orientado por resultados. Queremos avanzar esfuerzos que ayuden a nuestras comunidades salir adelante.
• Respetamos el conocimiento y experiencia y nos guiaremos por proyectos pasados, prácticas comunitarias y programas existentes para dirigir y guiar nuestro trabajo.
• Intentaremos aprender lecciones tomadas de modelos comprobados y estamos dispuestos a innovar basado  en prácticas de evaluación que toman en cuenta los impactos en nuestras comunidades agrícolas y priorizan los impactos en comunidades desatendidas.
• Evitaremos duplicar esfuerzo y intentaremos buscar canales de recursos y apoyar intervenciones que sean efectivas.

• La Red conglomerá datos sobre modelos existentes y creará oportunidades para que esos datos sean accesibles a todes les miembres.
• La Red recolectará y amplificará aprendizajes tomados de modelos comprobados y citará y reconocerá al trabajo previo y existente.
• La Red procederá con evaluación incorporada y procesos de retroalimentación que permitan una valoración precisa sobre los beneficios de los proyectos para nuestras comunidades agrícolas.
• Procesos de evaluación específicamente explicarán los impactos en las comunidades agrícolas que históricamente han sido desatendidas y poco representadas. Los proyectos deberán ser evaluados basado en los beneficios.

Definitions:

• We aim to be as inclusive as possible, with a seat at the table for all that should and can be involved.
• We will work to reduce the barriers that may prevent some from having a seat at the table, including allocating resourcing and funding for involvement.
• We will look at all aspects of stress in different farming communities, and recognize that stress does not look the same for all communities, nor do the same solutions work for all communities or individuals.
• We are dedicated to creating and providing the most appropriate and accessible resources to farmers and farmworkers.
• We will dedicate time and effort to reaching all different types of farming communities in the northeast.

Actions and commitments:

• The Network will continually deploy multi-faceted evaluation methods to understand the gaps in our Network coverage and where this Network may be perpetuating or creating new gaps.
• The Network will build in feedback loops to ensure that impacted communities have an opportunity to assess our work and guide our efforts.
• The Network will enact accountability measures to show our progress on addressing gaps and how we are meeting the needs of impacted communities.
• The Network will resource our efforts on inclusion and compensate organizations and individuals for their work in providing feedback and helping to improve the Network.
• A Farmer/Farmworker Advisory Board will be created, with paid opportunities for farmers and farmworkers to be involved in the Network (see Farmer and Farmworker Informed).

• La Red incluirá procesos de retroalimentación  para asegurar que las comunidades impactadas tengan una oportunidad para evaluar nuestro trabajo y guiar nuestros esfuerzos.
• La Red promulgará medidas de responsabilidad al mostrar nuestro progreso al atender lapsos y como estamos satisfaciendo las necesidades de las comunidades impactadas.
• La Red proveerá recursos para nuestros esfuerzos enfocados en la inclusión y compensará a organizaciones e individuos por su trabajo al proveer sugerencias y por ayudarnos mejorar.
• Se creará una Junta Consultiva de Agricultores con oportunidades pagadas para que los agricultores y trabajadores agrícolas  participen en la Red (ver Agricultore y Trabajadores Agrícolas Informades).

• We will ensure that farmer and farmworker voices are heard and our work is informed by their perspectives and experiences.
• We listen to farmers and farmworkers to ensure that our strategy and work is effective, accessible, and appropriate.
• We will seek to position farming communities as leaders in this work and provide opportunities for farmers and farmworkers to actively participate and lead our efforts.
  
  

Actions and commitments:

• The Network makes a community commitment to build in systems to ensure our work is farmer and farmworker informed.
• The Network will build in feedback loops to gather input and feedback from the communities we are serving.
• A Farmer/Farmworker Advisory Board will be created, with paid opportunities for farmers and farmworkers to be involved in the decision making processes of the Network. The Advisory Board will work directly with the Advisory Team to provide feedback, review resources, and share expertise on Network activities.

La Junta trabajará directamente con el Equipo Consultivo para proveer retroalimentación, revisar recursos y compartir conocimiento sobre actividades de la Red.

Definitions:

• We acknowledge the long history of racism and inequity in our country and agricultural systems.
• We recognize that stress in farming and ranching communities results from and is deeply connected to historic and ongoing racism and inequity in our country and its agricultural and healthcare systems.
• We recognize the past and current harms done to Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) in the realms of agriculture and mental health.
• We are committed to racial equity and anti-racist organizing.
  
  

Actions and commitments:

• Each Network member will sign a commitment to racial equity organizationally and within the Network.
• The Network will create a BIPOC farmer and service provider cohort.
• The Advisory Team will include at least one BIPOC-led organization.
• The Farmer/Farmworker Advisory Board will include at least 30% BIPOC farmers.
• The Network will direct resources and funding to BIPOC-led organizations.

• Reconocemos la larga historia de racismo e iniquidad en nuestro país y sistemas agrícolas.
• Reconocemos que el estrés en comunidades agrícolas y rancheras resulta de y está conectado a la inequidad y racismo histórico y presente  en nuestro país y sus sistemas agrícolas y médicos.
• Reconocemos los danos pasados y presentes hacia las personas de raza negra e indígena y personas de color (BIPOC) en los sistemas agrícolas y de salud mental.
• Estamos comprometides a la equidad racial y sindicatos anti-racistas.

Acciones y Compromisos:

• Cada miembro de la Red firmará un compromiso a la equidad racial a nivel de organización y dentro de la Red.
• La Red creará un grupo para agricultores y proveedores de servicios BIPOC.
• El Equipo Consultivo incluirá al menos una organización liderada por BIPOC.
• La Junta Consultiva de Agricultores incluirá al menos un 30% de agricultores BIPOC.
• La Red dirigirá recursos y fondos a organizaciones lideradas por BIPOC.

Definitions:

• We aim to embed this work in farming and ranching communities and service provider networks so the work can be continued when the Network is no longer funded.
• We recognize that Network sustainability and resiliency will both create and depend on effectiveness.
• We recognize that stable resourcing and funding is necessary for sustainability and resiliency.
  
  

Actions and commitments:

• The Network will plan for sustainability/resiliency from the beginning of the project and throughout our work together.
• The Network will incorporate a Strategic Planning Process into the project to help ensure that sustainability and resiliency are incorporated into the ongoing work.
• The Network will seek to find additional resources to support this work and will make sure those resources are available to our members.
