Are you interested in meeting with Assemblymember Robert Rivas from the 30th Assembly District to discuss access to farmland?
Join the National Young Farmers Coalition and the California Farmer Justice Collaborative on April 19th, as we meet with Assemblymember Rivas in his Salinas district office to discuss Assembly Bill 986.
This bill seeks to create low-interest rate loan programs and grant programs for socially disadvantaged farmers to be able to purchase land in the state of California. The bill is authored by the Assemblymember himself.
Our goal for this meeting is to have you as farmers, share your stories on the struggles that you have come across in your journey to purchase farmland.
Ernesto Meza, the California Policy Associate for the National Young Farmers Coalition, will have a conference call with everyone who RSVP’s on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in order to prepare you for the meeting. He will follow up with details on Wednesday, April 17th.
Please email Ernesto at email@example.com if you have any additional questions.
