Come join the National Young Farmers Coalition on Monday, November 18th for a policy platform development session!
Ernesto Meza, California Policy Associate with the National Young Farmers Coalition, will provide an overview of opportunities to support young farmer needs through state policy, a summary of our California Young Farmers Report and then turn it to you so that together, we can build a policy platform that includes solutions to the challenges young farmers face. This workshop is open to young and beginning farmers, farmworkers and farmer advocates from all around Fresno County. No prior experience or knowledge required.
Our goal is for attendees to come away from the event with the following:
- Being heard: This will be an opportunity to help us create a policy platform that reflects your needs and experiences as a young farmer. We will center the voices of farmers of color but welcome all to join us.
- Being part of the process: What is decided in these policy-setting sessions will become our agenda for policy change in Sacramento.
- Being part of the change: Our work will continue beyond this workshop. We will be your advocate in Sacramento. However, we will need you to take action throughout the year to ensure our advocacy is successful. We will provide more information at the conclusion of our workshop!
We look forward to working with you to build a brighter future for young farmers in California!
Dinner will be provided.
