GA | Atlanta Farmers Coalition

The Atlanta Farmers Coalition was formed in January 2017 as a networking group for farmers serving the metro Atlanta area. The group evolved in just a few short months to include over 45 farmers representing 30 farms, who have collectively established a buying co-op, engaged with local and state-level politicians, helped launch an urban agricultural land allotment program with the City of Atlanta, hosted fundraising events, hosted Georgia’s first CSA Fair, and had a lot of fun while doing all of it. We are excited to link up with the National Young Farmers Coalition and its current chapters, to help strengthen this growing movement- pun intended! In 2018 what we plan to fight for a good farm bill, connect with Atlanta’s new mayor and Georgia’s (forthcoming) new governor on policies that support Georgia farmers, and work to ensure the success of our chapter members and their farms.
