NYFC’s Western Program Director, Kate Greenberg, named Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture

DENVER, CO (December 21, 2019) – The National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) congratulates Western Program Director, Kate Greenberg, on being appointed as Colorado’s next Commissioner of Agriculture by Governor-elect Jared Polis.

Greenberg, originally hired as Western Organizer in 2013, says, “It is with a deep sense of service to farmers and ranchers that I will be stepping into that role prior to inauguration day on January 8, 2019.

My last six years at the National Young Farmers Coalition have been invaluable. You all have taught me so much—about love for the land, stewardship, neighborliness, the importance of using your voice, and of having each others’ backs. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the NYFC team, particularly co- founder Lindsey Lusher Shute, for the opportunities she has encouraged me to reach for, including this one.”

The NYFC team wishes Kate the best of luck in this new chapter, and is excited to continue to work together to support young farmers and ranchers in Colorado, and across the U.S.
