Produce washing table at Full Plate Farm: farm built, ergonomic and under $30

Danny Percich runs Full Plate Farm, just across the Washington State border from Portland, OR.  In this video he shows us his farm-built wash table, built of 2 x 4′s and wood lath.  Total cost for brand new wood and fasteners:  less than $30.

I love these kinds of tables, very simple and so practical. I’ve been thinking about the Lath direction and I think it might be better to orient the lath in the other direction and to use it at full length (4′). That would make the table 4′ wide and Danny’s right about 2′ deep with a bigger back splash.

I’m curious about how you keep the wood clean. Farms I’ve worked at have had plastic or metal surfaces, which are much easier to clean & don’t retain moisture/smell/etc.

Danny, so nice to see your place. Oh yeah, nice table.
