The National Young Farmers Coalition represents, mobilizes and engages young farmers to ensure their success. We’re hiring for two positions: a policy analyst and communications coordinator, ideally to work from our Hudson, NY office.

POLICY ANALYST
The National Young Farmers Coalition seeks a full-time Policy Analyst to direct the coalition’s federal and state policy agendas, as well as coordinate relevant national campaigns.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine NYFC’s national policy agenda, focused on government regulations, subsidized loans, government grants, technical assistance, and tax incentives to help new and organic farmers succeed
- Work in coalition on relevant policy with sustainable agriculture groups nationwide
- Communicate NYFC’s policy work to a young farmer audience through NYFC’s blog, reports and at conferences and farmer gatherings
- Coordinate action on policy agenda with NYFC’s chapter groups and members, including email actions, rallies and in-person meetings
- Educate elected officials on the needs of the next generation of growers and opportunities to help

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
The National Young Farmers Coalition seeks a part-time Communications Coordinator to lead NYFC’s press work, blog and email communications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Elevate NYFC’s national visibility through the development and execution of a communications strategy, including regular press releases, story pitches and responses to press inquiries
- Write regular blog posts on NYFC’s work and relevant issues at youngfarmers.org
- Post for NYFC on social media outlets
- Edit all email communications
- Assist in drafting bi-annual fundraising appeals and campaigns
- Archive NYFC’s press clippings and media
- In 2014, work with media firm on national media pitches on land access
