ARIZONA ORGANIZER

NYFC is currently seeking a paid, part-time Arizona organizer.

The Arizona Organizer will engage and organize young and beginning farmers across Arizona with a focus on building affiliate chapters, growing membership, working with relevant state policy and decision-makers, building support for water conservation, and generating outreach materials.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience community organizing and/or group leadership and facilitation
  • Familiarity with State and Federal agricultural and water policies, or willingness to learn
  • Adept at using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google hangout
  • Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle for field visits

GENERAL BLOGGING INTERNSHIP

NYFC seeks excellent writers with experience in farming and/or agricultural policy to provide blog content at youngfarmers.org. Blog topics include: young farmers profiles, agricultural policy on the local, state and federal levels, farm hacks (see farmhack.net), general interest stories for young, beginning and sustainable growers (weather, state organizing, conferences, etc.)

Must commit to a minimum of 2 stories/month. 

Desired Skills:
Organized, excellent writer, committed to the goals of the Young Farmers’ Coalition.
